Ms Lendrum Says 'Goodbye'!

Dear Families and Friends,

After almost 11 years it is time for me to say goodbye to Central, Sydenham and Marysville Public Schools. At the end of the month I will be moving to Cataraqui Woods Elementary School as Principal.

You may know how important a sense of community is to me and I believe the school is a pillar. It is the families’ commitment to invest in their school which creates community. Without you the school is just a building, a work place. Your dedication to the school lifts it beyond bricks and mortar to a place of kindness, trust, reciprocal respect and for some, refuge. We are the village raising children and we do it together.

There are very few Principals who can say they were the Principal of a school for over 10 years. I am so grateful for the opportunity and leaving is very bittersweet. This has been a very special tenure and I am proud of growth of each and every student in the three buildings. Some of our students I’ve known since before they were born. I am honoured to have been the Principal; leading such incredibly dedicated educators. These teachers care so very much for your children. I am very proud of the three schools, the students, the staff and the community.

Mrs. Dawn Diamond will replace me as Principal of our three schools. She is coming from Joyceville and Glenburnie Public Schools as Vice Principal. In additional to her strong instructional leadership skills, Mrs. Diamond brings with her a love of the arts and has been with the board for many years. I can’t imagine a better person to pass on the torch!

My best always,
